Little controversy in "Sience is Beauty " because of climate change

It all started with a sarcastic joke which is published in Sience Beauty, which I took from "Watts Up With That?" and that in a nutshell summed up in three vignettes the immaturity of the science of climate, lack of ethics of the scientists (and politicians) that maintain the official line of alarmism, and the inconsistencies in the conclusions that can get out of this gibberish.

Within minutes an avalanche of blog visits and the resulting flood of e fiercely criticizing the joke and of course towards me as editor of the blog. It is also true that I received many messages of support and sympathy especially to my response to the wildest messages. I've been answering all emails (as usual I do) and this has drawn criticism from regular readers of Science is Beauty, and so I've decided to end the debate there, and answer the remaining at this humble blog.

In short, I will answer here those emails that are in the queue and you all can always comment in this thread.

The Climate Skeptic

Now I am officially involved in the climate change issue, or rather, I am involved in the fight against climate alarmism. I started a site in Spanish (El escéptico climático) that discuss the most important news on this controversial issue, and will collect all available resources on the network, ever from a skeptical view.

The cold war between Science and Humanism

I fully agree with this entry from Uncertain Principles.

From the article you can read: "If people had a better understanding of science and how it works, they'd be less likely to fall for quack medicine, dishonest climate science, and the rest of the pseudo-scientific ills that plague us." or "...If the real practical benefit of the LHC is going to be improved knowledge of working with superconductors on a large scale, as you often hear claimed, then we would be better off putting $10 billion into making, say, a system of superconducting power lines, or a maglev train system, or something else practical. Likewise, if the real goal is to understand the ethical implications of biotechnology, then we should spend money on studying the ethical implications of biotechnology, not, say, eighteenth-century Russian literature."

There is a point that I think should be highlighted, that humanistic knowledge is usually also owned by people of scientific type while the opposite is not true almost never. This could be because culture is easily learned by permeability, arts are inherent to human being and in order to learn history you need only some curiosity and a good collection of books. In the other hand most of people on humanistic topics show a rejection of anything that smacks to sciences, especially to hard sciences and its response is to take out the science of the culture world, which is a serious error.

The thing is that this response against sciences, the easy one, has won the cold war between Science and Humanism, when in my opinion everything is Humanism. And as side effect, a bunch of scammers, healers, pseudo ecologist, etc... have taken advantage of the dispute mixing some scientific terms with some humanistic concepts and ultimately sell us things like global warming, magnetic bracelets or quantum metaphysics.

The key could be to rejoin back Science and Humanism, even if for to do that we have redouble efforts in teaching Science, again, specially in hard sciences.

Fighting against the false ecologism (In languages other than English)

I've stumbled today upon a great blog: "EcoTretas - Verdades Inconvenientes da Ecologia" who could be translated from Portuguese to something like "Eco-tricks, inconvenient truths about Ecology".

Between its pages you can find a table of sites and blogs that have a skeptical view of climate and energy issues, in languages other than English. Though by norm I can not imagine another point of view than the skeptic view, due to the political pollution, green ecologist misconceptions and some other demagogies who are spreading all around, seems It's compulsory to promote the sites who are in a different melody to the political correctness and to the apocaliptical nonsense... So  I have thought to post that list here too:
